Field Installation Engineer

Responsible for successful installation of hardened wireless handsets for large enterprise customers, typically in hospitals, retail stores, manufacturing facilities and businesses. Serves as technical subject expert on how company's wireless products are installed, deployed and utilized at end users.
At the customer site, ensures the wireless LAN is configured correctly to be able to connect the handsets to the customer's PBX system and completes necessary troubleshooting to resolve issues, providing remedial services to customer with system issues. Conducts testing to ensure that the handsets are functioning correctly and features the customer has requested are working correctly. Tests roaming features and provides training for end users on new products. Escalates residual issues to Technical Support team as needed.
Provides training for users on new product. Assists the Project Management team on the front end with planning, site preparations needed and ensuring customer is prepared for installation. Uses lab environment to replicate scenarios found in different environments for troubleshooting. Prepares system analysis reports, technical bulletins and set-up guides for end users.
Requires 3+ years of related experience with an emphasis on network or telecom equipment, and working knowledge of PBX, telecom, and network wiring standards. Strong trouble-shooting skills required to resolve complex issues. Requires ability to read and follow blue prints and implement RF designs. Requires basic knowledge of both AC and DC power systems.
Additionally, must possess at least three of the following skill sets:
· CCNA, Network+, A+ or equivalent experience
· Working knowledge of networking (layer 2 and 3)
· Deep knowledge of wireless LAN
· Extensive troubleshooting using wireshark and packet tracers
· Android/smartphone
· Working knowledge of MDM
· Experience with VMWare
· Broad knowledge of SIP call control
· Working knowledge of Security, Firewall and issues which may be encountered in deployment of a product within a network wireless handsets (900 MHz, DECT or WiFi)
· IP-PBX installation/deployment experience
· WLAN installation/deployment experience
Requires 75 - 80% travel to customer sites over a large geographic area.
